Rose Villa sees providing campus sustainability as a way to ensure we are meeting present needs while not compromising the needs of future generations. Utilizing resource-smart practices provides a great value to our community and beyond. Located above the beautiful Willamette River, focusing on ecology and consumption are priorities for us to make a positive impact on maintaining the quality of the natural areas surrounding our campus. We regularly evaluate our methods and practices to achieve our sustainability goals. Here is a sampling of the ways we accomplish this:
- Walkable community with extensive paths and green spaces
- Regular use of home-made compost and compost tea resulting in a reduction of chemical use
- Reusing, repurposing and recycling campus wide
- Donating excess and recycled supplies and building materials to local charitable organizations
