Once they've met the financial criteria for entrance set by the Board of Directors, residents of Rose Villa have considerable financial security because the resources of the Rose Villa Foundation stand behind them. The mission of our separately-incorporated Foundation is to support Rose Villa residents who may have outlived their financial resources, through no fault of their own.
Established by residents in 1962, the Foundation is the product of forward-thinking folks who understood that, even with the best planning, economic circumstances can change - but we can all meet those challenges if we work together.
Our Foundation has assets in the millions and is governed by a Board predominantly composed of residents. Because of such significant resident support, we are able to put together many fundraisers for this cause each year - everything from donating the proceeds from our own weekly farmer's market on site, to special sale days at our resale shop (the Treasure House - surely an accurate description!) as well as our fall Holiday Bazaar and spring Community Fair.
The Foundation is a good example of Real People in action at Rose Villa.
